GTIĀ Develops New Technology for Tempering Thin Glass; Files Provisional Patent

BENSALEM, PA–(Marketwired – Sep 9, 2015) – Gyrotron Technology Inc. (OTCBB: GYTI), an industrial process technology company, announced today that it has developed novel technology for the tempering of thin glass utilizing a gyrotron beam. The company has filed a provisional patent application with respect to its new technology.
Currently, heat-tempered glass is effectively limited to thicknesses of 3.2mm or greater. GYTI’s new technology, which has been studied through extensive computer modeling, allows much thinner glass to be heat tempered, and relies on focusing the gyrotron beam to the glass mid-plane, raising the mid-plane temperature above the surface temperature of the glass.

Dr. Vlad Sklyar, President of GYTI, stated: “Based on discussions with manufacturers of automotive glazing, GYTI believes that there is strong interest in technology for the production of thinner automotive glazing and that the technology it has developed may help achieve that objective. The technology can potentially also be used for a variety of other glass products, including architectural glass.”

About Gyrotron Technology – (OTCBB: GYTI): GYTI develops and markets unique processing technology solutions for a broad range of industries, including glass, plastics, semiconductors, and food. Most of these utilize the gyrotron, a very powerful source of high-frequency microwave energy. These solutions open new horizons, substantially enhancing productivity and cutting costs by, among other things, applying heat in a dramatically more efficient and effective manner than is possible with legacy technologies.
