Soldering

Metal solder reflects the Gyrotron Beam and cannot be heated directly. However it can be exclusively and rapid heated and melted by using appropriate fluxes as an energy transfer. In this way the Beam can be used, for example, for mass soldering electronics elements without heating them, for soldering thin corrugated sheets without warping, joining diamond to metal using solder with melting points higher than the diamond degradation temperature and in other cases where temperature is a major concern with one of the elements being joined (for example glass).
